Every Dancer Insured  This booklet is a clear explanation of the most significant programs and reforms within the Affordable Care Act, with special emphasis on those that directly impact the lives of dancers. Because so many of its provisions are directed at the individual and small group market, where the majority of dancers find themselves, it is critical that we understand how we can benefit from them.

Health Insurance, Resources and Health Care Reform in Philadelphia This Powerpoint presentation explains how the Affordable Care Act has already changed dancers' health insurance options, what's still to come, and how dancers and dance companies can access insurance and care now.

Health Insurance Seminars For Dancers and Choreographers

The Actors Fund has created two seminars to improve dancers' access to health insurance.

The first is a presentation on small business health insurance and the subsidies available in the health care reform law for businesses with 25 or fewer full-time employees.  This subsidy, which is available as either a tax credit or a direct payment, can reduce the cost of premiums for not-for-profit organizations such as small dance companies by as much as 25%.  The presentation also gives clear steps for determining eligibility and applying.

We also offer a seminar for individual dancers on getting and keeping health insurance in our ten target cities.  We review private and government-subsidized coverage options as well as access to quality care for the uninsured.  We also point out the most useful current benefits of the health care reform law for artists, and explain the new options for health insurance coming in 2014.

These seminars are available separately or together, and arrangements can be made to offer them as webinars.
